Product Description

Also known as Black Turbo Snail, the Margarita Snail is an efficient herbivore that will help you keep your tank void of any nuisance algae and detrius. They will spend their day grazing heavily on the surface of liverock and aquarium glass. Occasional supplement of dried seaweed(Nori) is optional when the aquarium is lacking sufficient amount of algae for them to feed on. Their relative ease of care makes them an excellent addition to any reef aquariums.

Their colors can range from black to silver. Margarita Snails prefer cooler temperatures but will not have trouble acclimating properly to the reef aquarium temperatures. Be sure to provide them with an aquascape that will allow them to feel secure, such as caves or ledges. Plenty of liverock for grazing is also recommended. They are extremely sensitive to copper-based medications, high ammonia and nitrate levels. In order to encourage proper growth of their shells, be sure that your Calcium level is up to par. * This is a representative picture. Approximate purchase sizes will range from ½’’ to 1.5''
